Local hunters were thanking Park Ranger Pat Hector for raising 950 pheasants in the backyard of his home in Buckhorn State Park. The birds were part of a Niagara Frontier State Park Commission wildlife program to repopulate the species.

Three gardening clubs — Bridgeview, Sandy Beach and Willowlawn — were pooling their resources for the fall's "Island in the Sun" show. General chairman was Mrs. Floyd Decker. Co-chairmen were Mrs. Douglas Fox, Mrs. Norbert Kraus, Mrs. George McFarquhar, Mrs. Albert Sargent and Mrs. John Jasper. Classes would he held to teach various arrangements, including "Red Sails in the Sunset," "Moonlight and Roses," and "Afternoon of a Fawn."

Daniel J. McNamee, a former town supervisor, was re-elected chairman of the town's Democratic Committee recently. Others elected were Robert Campbell, James Cumming, Mrs. Margaret E. Moreland and Mrs. Gertrude M. Gay.
